Terms of use
Resoniq is a prototype built by one person. These terms keep things clear while it grows up.
01Using Resoniq
By using the Resoniq app, the Resoniq box or this site, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use them.
02Drive responsibly
- Set it up while you’re parked. Don’t use the app while driving.
- Noise rules are on you. External speakers and exhaust-style sounds are regulated differently in different places. You’re responsible for following the rules where you drive. Street mode, on by default, caps the volume, but it isn’t a legal guarantee.
- Resoniq doesn’t replace or change your car’s own pedestrian warning sound, and you shouldn’t rely on it as one.
03Installation
The box connects to your car’s OBD port and 12 V power. Install it carefully, fuse its power, and route wires away from pedals and airbags. If you’re not comfortable doing that, have a professional install it. Adding equipment to your car may affect your warranty; check with your dealer.
04Sound packs and names
Sound packs are named after the cars whose character they’re built to evoke. Those names and brands belong to their owners. Resoniq isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by any car maker, including Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Mercedes-Benz, Pagani or Porsche.
05Software and updates
We license you the app and the box’s firmware for your personal use. Updates are signed, and the box only installs updates from us. Please don’t try to get around that, or reverse-engineer the firmware to make copies.
06No warranty
Resoniq is provided “as is” while it’s a prototype. We do our best, but we can’t promise it will be free of faults or work with every car. To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential losses from using it. Nothing here takes away rights you have under consumer law where you live.
07Changes
We may update these terms as Resoniq changes, and will change the date above when we do. Questions: see the help page.
